FACULTY CALL · VOLUNTEER, NAMED, IN WRITING

You know what good looks like.Teach it to the peoplewho will work beside AI.

Pawanax Academy is building a school of practical AI, taught by the people who did the work. We are inviting experienced clinicians, operators, support leads, credit officers, makers and reviewers to teach as voluntary faculty. Some of you were recently let go. You do not have to be over it to apply.

Voluntary launch-phase roles. Written terms first. No work on spec.

THE PART NOBODY WRITES DOWN

Nobody writes this part down.

  1. 9:04 am

The email arrives while the kettle is still heating. The subject line is about your role. You read it twice, the way you would reread a clause you need to explain to someone else.

  2. 9:40 am

Your badge still opens the side door on Monday. On Wednesday it does not. The guard looks at the screen, then at you, and says nothing.

  3. 11:15 am

The team channel keeps scrolling. Your name stops appearing in the mentions, and nobody is sure whether it is kind to message you.

  4. 1:30 pm

A cardboard box holds what fits under one arm: a mug, a notebook, a pen you bought yourself, and a plant nobody watered in your last week.

  5. 7:45 pm

The old group chat asks, kindly, 'any leads?' You type three replies, delete two, and send a thumbs-up.

  6. 10:20 pm

At dinner your partner asks careful questions about the savings, in the voice people use when they are trying not to be afraid for you.

  7. Week two

You turn the 'open to work' banner on, then off, then on again. You hate it. It is also the only honest line on your profile.

  8. Any hour

A model writes a clean paragraph in your field. You see, before any checker does, the sentence that is wrong. The judgment did not leave when the job did.

That judgment is the part no job description could hold, and it is the part a school needs most. Models are getting good at the shape of work, but they still need a person who can tell a safe discharge from a plausible one, and a sound file from a risky one. At Pawanax Academy, your judgment is the curriculum: you set the standard, review what learners make, and decide what is ready.

The judgment did not leave when the job did.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Usefulness is not a consolation prize.

Some of you are angry, and that is a fair response to decisions made without you. Some of you are tired, and some of you are simply good at your work and want to keep doing it. This school rests on one idea: people who know how the work is done should be willing to teach it, and should keep the final say on what good looks like.

  • Competence first

We start with what you know how to do. The layoff is context, not the headline of your application or of this page.

  • Your craft, credited

Your name goes on the work you teach and review. You leave with a named profile, a portfolio and teaching evidence, and a structured path into AI skills.

  • Honest about AI

Some companies have used AI tools to reduce roles. Those tools make some tasks faster and make some mistakes. We will teach you where the mistakes come from.

  • Belonging among peers

Teaching beside people who did the same work, with the same years behind them, is different from being taught by someone who never had to do it.

What the evidence says, and what it does not

Four facts we can print, each with its source. They describe studies and counts, not outcomes for you. Stated reasons for job cuts are not measures of cause.

No evidence yet shows that learning AI skills speeds re-employment, and we do not promise jobs. Pawanax Academy is a launch-phase school with voluntary faculty. It is not a placement service, and no course here guarantees an outcome.

What we are

  • A school of practitioners

Our faculty are people who did the work. They teach what they did, in the terms they used at work, and they review what learners make against that standard.

  • A voluntary launch-phase role

Each role states its scope and its terms in writing before you start.

  • A place with named people

Every cohort has a named Dean and a Faculty Lead. You are never the only signature on your work.

  • Honest about the tools

We use AI as a tool with limits. It drafts and drills. People judge, decide and sign.

  • Quiet on purpose

We would rather publish a short, plain page than a loud one. If we cannot back a claim with a source or a signed term, it does not appear here.

What we are not

  • A placement agency. We do not promise jobs, and we have no evidence yet that learning AI speeds re-employment.
  • A way to earn a living. Teaching, review, sample and portfolio tasks are voluntary, and none starts without written terms.
  • A place to bring a former employer's confidential material. Bring your craft, not their secrets.
  • A test of your character. You are hired to do skilled work, and the work is judged on its merits.
  • A promise of a fixed number of cohorts, hours or renewals. Each one is agreed in writing before it starts.
A CALM, WRITTEN PROCESS

How applying works

  1. 01

    Tell us what you know

Send your years of work, your field, and one thing you would teach first. Attach your CV as a PDF. Leave out client names and confidential details of any former employer.

  2. 02

    A human reads it

A Faculty Lead reads every application. We reply within five working days with a yes, a no or a not yet, and the reason for it.

  3. 03

    A short conversation

If there is a fit, we talk on the channel you prefer, in person, on the phone or by video. You are welcome to bring a colleague.

  4. 04

    Written terms, before any work

You receive the role's terms in writing, with the scope, the start date and the cancellation terms, and the role is voluntary. You have at least 48 hours before you sign. No work starts before that, and no sample task starts without written terms.

  5. 05

    Teach a named cohort

You teach alongside a named Dean and Faculty Lead, in voluntary sessions. You can leave at the end of any agreed term, with your work and your credit kept.

A ladder you can see, and step off when you choose

Faculty roles are the first rungs. Each rung is a voluntary role with a written scope. You can stay on any rung as long as the work is good and the cohort runs.

  1. Guest expert

Teach one session or review one round, as a voluntary role. A good place to start, and a fair test for both sides.

  2. Lane Champion

Stay on a client's floor after the cohort ends, as a voluntary role, and keep the practice honest. Requires builder-level proof of an agent run for real users.

  3. Dean of a Lane, or Faculty Lead

Own a lane's curriculum or one school's quality, and sign the records. Part-time, for an agreed term. Your signature is the record.

Learn to build, with a written path

If you want to build AI tools as well as teach them, there is a written path, and it is voluntary. You start with the work you already know, and each step has a written proof.

Taking this track is optional.

  1. Literate: use AI deliberately in your domain, keep an error log, and document a ten-task workflow.
  2. Fluent: connect a model to a tool and measure it against a threshold you set in advance, then show a Dean.
  3. Builder: run an agent for real users for 30 days, with traces and an incident record.
  4. You can stop at any step with your completed proofs kept. No step guarantees a job.

What you get, and how it works

Every role states its scope and terms in writing before you apply.

  • Public credit and a named profile
  • A portfolio and teaching evidence you can show later
  • Structured upskilling into AI roles, with each step written down
  • References on request
  • Flexible hours, planned around your existing work
  • Clean-room protection: you never have to bring a former employer's confidential material
  • Written terms arrive before you commit, with the scope, the start date and the cancellation terms.
  • No work starts before those terms are agreed in writing.
  • We do not promise jobs, renewals or hours.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

Before you apply

  • Voluntary launch-phase role. Pawanax is not paying faculty or interns at this time, and we say so up front. What you do get: public credit and a named profile, portfolio and teaching evidence, structured upskilling into AI roles, references on request, flexible hours, and clean-room protection. Written terms are shared before you commit to anything, and no work starts before then.

Tell a peer about teaching with Pawanax

Someone you know may have years of real experience and no title for it yet. Send them this page in your own words. We never see your contacts, and nothing is sent on your behalf.

You choose who receives this. Pawanax does not contact them, and does not store their details.

When you are ready, the roles are here.

Read the roles at your own pace. Nothing here asks you to decide today, and every role states its terms before any work starts.
